DCCB Awarded REAP CEP Grant

The Dickinson County Conservation Board (DCCB) has been awarded an $80,000 Resource Enhancement and Protection (REAP) Conservation Education Program (CEP) grant, marking a major step forward in fundraising efforts for the Nature Playscape project.   

For Fiscal Year 2026, REAP will fund a total of 12 projects totaling $574,377 with DCCB scoring third. The grant will be used towards educational components within the Nature Playscape that promote environmental education, cognitive and sensory development, mental health, social growth, and nature-based connection.  

REAP is a state-funded program intended for preserving, enhancing, and educating about Iowa’s natural and cultural resources. REAP applications are encouraged with a deadline at end of 2026; more information can be found on www.iowadnr.gov. 

The Dickinson County Conservation Board will be hosting a REAP assembly meeting on July 23 at 1:00 PM at the Maser Monarch Lodge, 22703 Nature Center Rd, Okoboji. This is a time for anyone interested in learning more about the program, how it might help with projects, and sharing about locally funded projects.
