DCCB Hires New Roadside Manager

The Dickinson County Conservation Board is pleased to announce the hiring of a new Roadside Manager to lead the county’s Integrated Roadside Vegetation Management (IRVM) program.

Charles Vigdal, formerly the Regional Collection Center Manager, he will now oversee the IRVM program, which works to manage and maintain native vegetation along county roads in the right-of-way.

Vigdal is looking forward to the new position stating, “I’m excited to be working with prairie plants again! I have always enjoyed talking to people, growing prairie areas, working outside and learning new things.”

As Roadside Manager, Vigdal will continue working with landowners and partners to promote roadside conservation efforts. These conservation efforts help reduce erosion, improve water filtration, provide wildlife habitat and resources, and create a sustainable approach to controlling weeds. Residents will continue to see ongoing work throughout the county as seasonal management activities continue.
