Earth Day Celebration

April 18

Participate in a fun, family event celebrating Earth Day.

Wings and Wetlands Weekend

8 a.m. May 11

Dickinson County joins other northwest Iowa county conservation boards for a fun weekend celebrating birds and wetland species. Dickinson County will host a Warbler Walk 8 a.m. Saturday, May 11, starting at the Marble Lake boat ramp east of Big Spirit Lake.

Dee’s Bee & Butterfly Festival

4-8 p.m. Sept. 6

Our biggest event of the year focuses on our favorite pollinators, bees and butterflies. Join us and hundreds of guests for monarch butterfly tagging, entertainment, guest speakers, take-home crafts and more.

Family Glow Walk

6:30 p.m. Oct. 5

Enjoy a fall evening outdoors with the family. Wear glow gear and participate in fun glowing activities along the walk route.

Run the Bend 5K

11 a.m. Oct. 19

Go on a cross country run through the Horseshoe Bend Wildlife Area. Register online.

Howlin’ Halloween

4 p.m. Oct. 31

Bring the kids to the nature center for a short program on coyotes, crafts and a costume parade before heading out to trick-or-treat. Everyone who wears a costume will get a honey treat.

      Please call 712-336-6352 to register. We will put you on the June and July list. The August date is full, so we will need your phone number to put you on the waiting list. As of right now we are only taking reservations through August. Thank you!
