Canada Goose Made of Hearts

Canada Geese are very common around Iowa and if you have ever wondered if you could have one as a pet, now you can. Our craft of the week features our animal of the week. It allows you to have your very own Canada Goose.

 

Supplies:

• Colored paper: white, black, tan, and brown
• Pencil if you want to draw your shapes
• Scissors
• Glue stick
• Googly Eyes

 

Step 1:

Almost the entire goose will be made of hearts so start with a big heart for the body.

 

Step 2:

Next, cut a heart out of the brown paper for the wing. This will also be made from a heart but make sure you make it big enough for a wing.

 

Step 3:

Next, you’re going to cut the neck from the black paper. I didn’t make it straight because I wanted to make my goose look fancy. And glue the neck to the body.

 

Step 4:

Next, you’re going to cut a heart out for the head and another heart out for the white markings. The head will be from black paper and the markings from white paper. Then cut the beak from the tan paper. These will all be glued together.

 

 

Step 5:

Glue the head onto the neck and add the googly eye.

 

Step 6:

Now all you need is the legs and the feet. I made one straight leg and one bent leg to make it look like he was walking. Then I cut the feet out in the shape of a heart. This will be your final heart and you’re almost done. All that’s left is to glue them together.

Now you have your very own Canada Goose! It took me a little more work to make it than I thought but it’s really just because I’m a perfectionist. I wanted to have the best hearts I could have. We would love to see your versions of the Canada Goose!
