Horseshoe Bend open Feb. 17, 2018

The Horseshoe Bend Winter Sports Area will be open Saturday, Feb. 17. Due to expected warm weather this weekend, conditions will be re-evaluated on Saturday regarding if the tubing hill will be open Sunday-Monday, Feb. 18-19. We will post on our Facebook Saturday about operating hours the rest of the weekend.

The Dickinson County Conservation Board’s tubing hill will be open at the Horseshoe Bend Wildlife Area, 1924 240th St., Milford. Children and adults are invited to rent tubes and fly down the snowy terrain, coming back up with ease by simply hooking onto an automated tow rope.

(See a video of Horseshoe Bend here.)

When you’re chilly inside and out, stop inside the warming house to enjoy a crackling fire and purchase concessions for $2 each. Then head back outside to enjoy the tubing hill once more.

(Read about the park’s restoration project.)

Tubing hill hours will be 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday. Prices for the 2018 season are $10 per day or $45 for a single-person season pass. Season passes are non-refundable and non-transferable.

(Check out Horseshoe Bend’s history.)

The tubing hill will only be open on scheduled days when the hill has at least six inches of snowpack. To check weather conditions and hours, check back on our home page. Updates will also be posted on the Dickinson County Nature Center Facebook, so follow us to keep up to date.

Family pass for Horseshoe Bend residents?

In the past I believe there was a special rate?

    Just thought I’d ask!

There is no family pass at this time. Costs are per tube/person!
