From a building set that uses toilet paper and paper towel rolls instead of blocks to coonskin caps, the Nature Store at the Dickinson County Nature Center has a wide variety of unique options.
Loyal Dickinson County Nature Center volunteer Penny Wilson creates beautiful nature watercolor paintings, and she has turned several of her pieces into greeting cards. Select from cards featuring an American goldfinch, a monarch butterfly, a bee, a kingfisher or the Kenue Park wetland compete with trumpeter swans.
2. Goat’s milk laundry soap
Since Those Crazy Goat Ladies have gone out of the goat’s milk product business, this is your last chance to purchase some of this all-natural laundry soap. Have issues with the strong chemicals in many laundry soaps? This is the perfect solution for you. Only three left in stock!
3. NEW water bottles
Those who participated in this year’s We Pedal Clean Water conservation bike ride around Big Spirit Lake received a free water bottle with registration. Those water bottles are now on sale for people who were unable to participate in the fun and educational cycling event. A limited supply of the water bottles are left, so come get one of these limited-time items.
4. Multi-tool and pocket knife
It’s hard to display a pocket knife and multi-tool in an area with kids, so this item gets overlooked inside the Nature Store. Complete with knife, screwdriver, corkscrew, bottle opened, scissors and saws, this multi-tool is perfect for any outdoorsman. Plus, it says “Dickinson County Nature Center,” so it makes for a great souvenir.
5. Okoboji Outdoors T-shirts
The Dickinson County Nature Center is the only place you can get this custom Okoboji Outdoors T-shirt. Select from monarch and kayak designs as well as a variety of colors from sizes 2T through adult XXL. Look for new designs each year!
